1957 Pontiac Bonneville Fuelie Convertible, White over Blue and White Leather
Named for the Salt Flats, world renown for the place to set world land speed records, the first ever Bonneville was the only Pontiac that featured Rochester mechanical fuel injection as standard. The blistering 315 Horsepower was the first Pontiac styled by the pen of a young ambitious executive "Bunkie" Knudsen, tasked with the mission of crafting a fresh image for GM's performance division. This top-of-the-line Pontiac endowed with all the deluxe features and flamboyant use of chrome throughout out is standard. This Mid Century ideal of luxury performance resulted in increased production costs, bringing the sticker price up to $5,782, on par with Cadillac. Only 630 of these fantastic Bonneville's were ever produced. Of those, fewer than 10% were finished in Kenya Ivory over Fontaine Blue.
Keys to Collectability
• Only 100 of 630 built were produced in coveted Kenya Ivory/Fontaine Blue with matching blue and white leather interior.
• OE Restoration retaining original 347 CI mechanical fuel injection overhead-valve V8 rated at 315 horsepower
• Concours Rotisserie Restored under previous ownership, even recreating factory inspection marks in the engine compartment.
• Restored as factory equipped, the most well-equipped Pontiac on offer in 1957.
• Five-digit odometer displays just over 79,161 miles. The car has been part of the collection for 14 years.
Known Imperfections
You may note that the driver's side window shows a gap in between the top and seal. The Power Window was not up all the way during portions of the photoshoot. The window does close fully and seals well with the convertible top.
Please note that, while all vehicles offered from The Bowman Collection of Sacramento, California are roadworthy, they are currently in non-running condition following long-term, climate-controlled storage. Each vehicle will benefit from additional mechanical attention before being driven to address any imperfections associated with long-term static display or individual preferences. All vehicles are sold as is, where is.
